Luke Native has been DJing for over 15 years and has played in major cities across Canada and the U.S. including Montreal, Ottawa, New York City, Miami, Boston and Las Vegas. Part of my inspiration and obsession for vinyl came from the legendary DJ GrandMaster Flash who played rare, jazz, soul, and funk records versus the hip hop selections everyone came to expect at an after hours club in Montreal. Drawing on this early inspiration in my teen years I have honed my craft by sourcing over 2,000 hard to find vinyl records to create a deep, soulful, and groovy sound that appeals to a wide audience. I pride myself on the ability to set just the right mood based on the location and people in attendance. I am also a proud member of Kwantlen First Nation, which is located in Fort Langley the birthplace of British Columbia. Part of my goal and what I currently do for work full time is let people know about the success, pride and passion of my Kwantlen community and family and what has been accomplished through my music. I also have a weekly radio show called ‘Native Love with Luke Native’ that has been running for over 12 years. It is currently featured on NYC’s own www.kult.fm Sunday afternoons @ 1 PM PST / 4 PM EST.
